Buzznet Exclusive: 18 Years Of Warped Tour With Joey Thunder

Hey guys, 

Buzznet wanted me to share some of my many memories from Vans Warped Tour with you guys so check out this interview I did below:

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear  “Warped Tour?”

-Traveling circus filled with sunburnt-homeless-smelling-talent. 

What is your most memorable moment from being on that tour?

-Waking up at the boarder of Canada by being yelled at and dragged out of my bunk by boarder security guards because I slept in when everyone got out for the boarder inspection...They thought I was sneaking into Canada.

What band did you become great friends with that no one would ever expect?

-We were all busy working on Symphony Soldier in the back of our bus so we weren't as social as we all wish we could have been, however I did become become friends with all the guys from Enter Shikari, some of the nicest people I have ever met. 

Suggestions on how to survive a day at The Warped Tour?

-Drink plenty of water before hand (and during). If you burn easily like myself wear a thin long sleeved shirt and wear sunblock under that, wear the largest hat you own. Get there early! Most bands play at random times so be sure to get there early just incase they are the first ones to play on their stage. 

Craziest thing you’ve ever seen on Warped Tour?

-I watched our Merch girl ride her mini electric motorcycle right into Kevin Lyman's bus who is the OWNER of Warped Tour and split her head open...Of course, she gets up and laughs about it (then is taken to the hospital). That is only one of the thousands of stories taken part of the tour. 

Any band’s your excited to see this year?

-Of course our friends in We The Kings, All Time Low, We Are The In Crowd, Breathe Carolina, Mayday Parade. I am personally excited to watch Memphis May Fire, The Used and Every Time I Die.
